val·or /ˈvalər/ -  noun - great courage in the face of danger, especially in battle.

Kagitingan Font is inspired by "Araw ng Kagitingan" or "Day of Valor", a Philippine national holiday. It is a day that commemorates the fall of Bataan during World War II.

Naming the font was as hard as creating it. I had a lot of ideas for the name, thought of Kababayan, Makabayan and Manila, to name a few. But one name fits the aesthetic of the font perfectly, Kagitingan.

The font itself is strong and bold, like the Narra tree, which can withstand any challenge and hardship it goes through.

The font was also inspired by the weaved mat or "banig", which is widely and locally produced here in the Philippines. It signifies meaningful connection and strong bond.

Besides that, I was born on the same day as the Araw ng Kagitingan which made "Kagitingan" the perfect name for my first font project. :)

I dedicate this font for all the Frontliners who are risking their lives for us in the battle against COVID-19. You are the true heroes of our modern world. Salamat at mabuhay po kayong lahat!

Feel free to use my font for your personal works :) Credits would be nice!
I also appreciate if you could leave some feedback and comment below  :)

This project is still under development.
